Moba, the leading provider of EV battery diagnostics, now also reports the vehicle’s Fault Codes, giving dealers, remarketers and fleets a full view of an electric vehicle before they buy, price or sell it.
Paris, 27th October 2026. Moba becomes the trusted standard for EV diagnostics with the launch of a new offer: the Fault Codes report. Moba now retrieves and explains a vehicle’s Diagnostic Trouble Codes (or Fault Codes) alongside battery health data, using the same Moba dongle and the same simple workflow.
The battery is the first question. It is not the only one.
The battery is the most valuable component of an electric vehicle, and its health is the first thing buyers want to know. That is the question Moba was built to answer, with a State of Health (SoH) based on official manufacturer data: trusted, verifiable data, with no black-box score.
But a vehicle’s value does not depend on its battery alone. A heat pump fault, a charging error or an airbag warning can change it just as much. Every modern vehicle records fault codes when one of its electronic systems detects an anomaly. Moba’s new Fault Codes (DTC) report covers three families of systems: battery and high-voltage components, electric powertrain and charging, and safety and other vehicle systems such as braking, steering, airbags and driver assistance. Each code is shown with the system concerned and a plain-language description, so sales teams can understand it and workshops can act on it.
Alongside this new report, Moba continues to provide a full analysis of the battery from cell to system. It detects faulty cells and balancing issues, estimates the remaining real-world range, and flags when rebalancing or replacement is needed. Professionals now get a more complete, transparent view of both the battery and the vehicle.
The same seamless approach for automotive professionals
The Fault Codes (DTC) retrieval integrates perfectly into the EV diagnostic Moba users already run. The process takes approximately one minute, is fully guided within the mobile application, and requires no extra hardware. From a single car to an entire fleet, every diagnostic produces a certificate, a full technical report of the battery, and now a Fault Codes (DTC) report.
“Our customers have always asked us one question: can I trust this battery? With the Fault Codes (DTC) report, we answer the next one: Can I trust this car, particularly the reliability of the other electric powertrain components, such as the inverter, on-board charger, DC/DC converter and electric motor? Moba was built on the manufacturer’s own data because a diagnostic is only useful if everyone agrees on what it says. Fault codes are the natural next step: same tool, same workflow, a far more complete picture.”
Guillaume Hébert, CEO & Co-founder, Moba
The Fault Codes (DTC) report is available now to all Moba customers.
